Saitek Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit

Pro Flight™ Simulator Cockpit for PC and Mac The Ultimate Learn-to-Fly Experience As market leaders in professional and enthusiast-based flight simulation, we are now, for the first time, offering a complete cockpit solution. The cockpit is styled after those found in popular general aviation (GA) aircraft trainers like the Cessna Skyhawk and the Piper Archer. Used with an appropriate PC, screen, and either Microsoft Flight Sim X, X-Plane, or Prepar3D, the cockpit can help you become fully familiar with the controls, processes and navigation systems of the world's most popular light aircraft. Whether it's as a personal training device for a private pilot license, a flying school to improve the interaction of classroom studies, or advanced students looking to study for instrument ratings, our Pro Flight hardware has been tested by generations of flight enthusiasts and is trusted the world over as the number one name in flight sim. Get Immersed and be Closer to Reality Initiate the pre-flight in your cold and dark aircraft by flipping real switches to control the cabin and external lights. Twist an actual magneto switch to turn over the engine. Turn the metal knobs on your radio stack to dial-in the tower. Taxi out on the runway, steering with your feet on the rudder pedals, hands on the yoke and throttle lever. Take to the sky and trim her out, not with a keyboard but with your hand on a big Cessna trim wheel. The cockpit simulates all the procedures from real-world flying, without the need to spend $60,000 on a full-motion flight simulator. 10 Flight Instrument Panels Display a Multitude of Gauges The Saitek cockpit includes 10 of our extremely popular Flight Instrument Panels (FIPs). These incredibly versatile devices feature a 3.5" (8.9cm) LCD screen that can each display a standard steam gauge relaying real-time information. The FIPs mount on the left side of the cockpit in your natural line of vision to provide you with perfect situational awareness in any IFR environment. You get all the gauges you would expect in a real Skyhawk or Archer: Airspeed Indicator Attitude Indicator Altimeter Turn/Slip Indicator Horizontal Situation Indicator Vertical Speed Indicator PFD: Primary Flight Display VHF Omnidirectional Radio (VOR) 1 VHF Omnidirectional Radio (VOR) 2 Engine Gauges Extend the Flaps, Set your Radios, or let Autopilot Take Care of Everything The right side of the Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit is home to your control panels, starting with a couple of Saitek Radio Panels that give you four total radios with standby buttons right at your fingertips. You can dial these in as COM 1 & COM 2 on one panel and NAV 1 & NAV 2 on the other panel, or switch on-the-fly to your ADF, DME, or transponder. And the best part is that you can do this not by pointing and clicking with your mouse, but with your hands on actual radios reminiscent of the Bendix King radios found in many GA trainers. This side of the cockpit is also where you will find your Switch and Multi panels. The Switch panel lets you control engine startup, lights, master electrical, avionics, pitot heat, landing gear, and various other functions at the flick of a switch. The Multi panel combines three vital controllers of your aircraft into one: a full autopilot control suite with an ARM switch that lets you set airspeed, altitude, vertical speed, heading, and course with rotary knobs and display buttons flaps lever pitch trim wheel A Rugged Frame that's Sleek and Secure The front of the Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit shell utilizes professional-grade solid aluminum. The durable front panel is 5mm thick, boasts a black anodized finish, and is precision laser cut to perfectly house all of the Saitek hardware, gauges, and panels. The cockpit is hard-wearing and very durable yet still light enough (18 pounds/8.2 kilos) to stand on just about any desk. The aircraft-quality, double-stitched leatherette glare shield covers the top and sides of the cockpit to keep bouncing light out of your eyes as you scan your instruments. The glare shield is smudge- and dust-resistant, and can retain its beauty for years to come. Two metal table clamps neatly fit into the slots on the bottom of the cockpit to ensure that your cockpit full of Saitek hardware securely mounts to your computer desk. Includes Monitor Stand and Three USB Powered Hubs The cockpit comes with a full metal monitor stand. The stand is rock solid and can easily support almost any configuration – from triple monitor stands to large 32" TV monitors. And since having all of your cockpit controls at your fingers and feet means you almost never have to look at your virtual cockpit again, you'll have even more visual real estate to practice your VFR maneuvers. The monitor stand serves a dual purpose as the back panel to your cockpit. The top of the stand lines up with the ledge in the back of the cockpit to give more support for larger TVs or monitor stand bases. The cockpit includes three 7-port, USB-powered hubs (21 total slots!) that can mount on the monitor stand's walls in a variety of positions to suit your needs. An Affordable Solution for all Pilots – Armchair and Real The Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit is a true procedure trainer. It's been designed with the demands of PPL training and high-end simulation in mind and is a robust and affordable alternative for schools, students, and enthusiasts alike. For those looking to be a pilot it's a perfectly cost-effective introduction to the real thing. Just think of the savings in avgas alone! For the flight sim enthusiasts, this is the culmination of decades of Saitek's commitment to be Closer to Reality. We've listened to feedback from countless customers to create a cockpit that is both a complete solution but can still fit in with your dream flight sim setup. The Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit is styled after GA trainers but is ready for extra quadrants for those of you who are virtual airline pilots. If you're a dedicated Cessna pilot you can replace the Pro Flight Yoke and pedals with Saitek Cessna equipment and get the TPM system with its push/pull levers instead. And if you're thinking even bigger, the cockpit's versatile styling means it can easily fit in as a central piece of your dedicated SimPit. New to Flight Sim? Here's a list of other recommended components, besides the Saitek Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit, that you'll need to get airborne, plus some additional recommendations from us: Software – The Saitek Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit is compatible with the latest versions of the "Big 3" flight sims: Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Gold Edition X-Plane 10 Prepar3D 2.2 PC – You've probably heard that you need a top-of-the-line computer to run a flight simulator. Fortunately, most of the stock computers you can buy at retail stores are powerful enough to adequately run your preferred sim. Of course, the better the specs, the better the performance, but at minimum we recommend: A CPU from the i7 series 8GB RAM A Video Card from the NVIDIA GTX 650 series or AMD R7 265 and above TV Monitor – The monitor stand will fit most flat-screen TVs and computer monitors. For optimal results, we recommend a 32" flat-screen TV as made by companies such as Acer. Keyboard and Mouse – With a fully loaded cockpit you'll never have to touch the keyboard or mouse except to start and stop your flight. For those instances, we recommend the Mad Catz S.T.R.I.K.E.M Wireless Keyboard. Its small form factor and Bluetooth wireless capability mean it is perfect for placement in a handy spot such as in your lap, on top of the glare shield, or even right on top of the TPM (sold separately). Table – The only requirement here is that your desk or table has enough space on top to fit the cockpit shell and monitor stand, plus an edge that the clamps can affix to (see Product Specs). IKEA tables such as the GALANT 47-¼" x 31-½" (120cm x 80cm) with adjustable leg height are perfect. We do not recommend using the cockpit on a computer desk with a keyboard tray. Chair – For full immersion we recommend the Air Force chair from PLAYSEAT (US) or the GT Ultimate from PAGNIAN (UK, AUS). Saitek… Closer to Reality Let's say you've already started building your flight sim rig with Saitek hardware. You've got the Yoke and the Rudder Pedals, and maybe a Radio panel and a FIP. Luckily, the Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit is also available as an unloaded, empty shell with blank face plates that still includes the monitor stand and the three 7-port USB hubs. You can connect the hardware you currently own and keep the blank plates on the panels that you are saving up for. We also include decals of all the panels that you can utilize as placeholders.
